Terms & Conditions of Membership and Use

1. About Us

Fire Risk Assessment Union (FRAU) (“FRAU”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a UK based professional membership organisation supporting fire risk assessors.

2. Membership Services

FRAU provides members with access to:

• Professional resources and templates.
• Industry insights and guidance.
• Community and discussion platforms.

Membership benefits may be updated, modified, or withdrawn at any time without prior notice.

Membership is:

• Personal to the individual member.
• Non-transferable.
• Not to be shared, resold, or distributed.
 

3. Payments & Subscriptions

• Membership operates on a subscription basis (monthly and/or annual).
• Payments are processed securely via Stripe.
• By subscribing, you authorise FRAU to take recurring payments.

If payment fails:

• Access may be suspended until payment is successful.
 

4. Pricing

• All prices are in GBP (£).
• We reserve the right to change pricing at any time.
• Changes will not affect the current paid billing period.
 

5. Renewals & Cancellation

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• You may cancel at any time via your account or payment provider.
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
 

6. Refund Policy

• All payments are non-refundable except where required by law.
• No refunds will be provided for partial use of a billing period.
 

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Share, distribute, or resell FRAU resources or templates.
• Misuse content for unlawful or unethical purposes.
• Engage in abusive, defamatory, or harmful behaviour within FRAU platforms.
 

8. Suspension & Termination

FRAU reserves the right to:

• Suspend or terminate membership immediately and without refund where:
o These terms are breached.
o Content is shared unlawfully.
o Behaviour is deemed harmful to FRAU or its members.
 

9. Intellectual Property

All content, including:

• Templates
• Documents
• Branding
• Website materials remain the property of FRAU.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use materials for your professional work only.

10. Professional Disclaimer

FRAU provides guidance, templates, and resources for informational purposes only.

• FRAU does not provide legal, fire engineering, or regulatory advice.
• Members are solely responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, standards, and professional obligations.
• Use of FRAU materials is at your own risk.
 

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

FRAU shall not be liable for:

• Any loss arising from reliance on FRAU materials.
• Business losses, loss of profit, or reputational damage.
• Errors or omissions in templates or guidance.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for:

• Death or personal injury caused by negligence.
• Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
 

12. Trade Union Position

FRAU is currently a membership organisation and may evolve into or operate alongside a recognised trade union structure.

Membership fees relate to access to services and resources and do not constitute formal union representation unless explicitly stated.

13. Data Protection

Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy (see below).

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of FRAU constitutes acceptance of any updates.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
